MLA: Hon. John Yap - Richmond-Steveston - Minister of Advanced Education, Innovation and Technology and Minister Responsible for Multiculturalism

Gracious Lord, we lift up MLA: Honourable John Yap to You in prayer. Thank You for the experience, the skill and the wisdom that he brings to his appointment as Minister of Advanced Education, Innovation and Technology and Minister Responsible for Multiculturalism as well as his role as MLA for Richmond-Steveston. Grant him favour with those he works with each day and open his eyes to new ways to approach the problems and challenges that come across his desk each day. John Yap was appointed Minister of Advanced Education, Innovation and Technology and Minister Responsible for Multiculturalism on September 5, 2012.

John was first elected in the riding of Richmond-Steveston in 2005 and was re-elected on May 12, 2009.

He previously served as the Minister of State for Climate Action and as the chair of the Government Caucus. He was also a member of the Treasury Board, the Legislative Review Cabinet Committee, as well as the Select Standing Committees on Public Accounts, Crown Corporations and Finance and Government Services. He has also served as a member of the Special Committee on Sustainable Aquaculture.

John attended the University of British Columbia and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Genetics and obtained his Masters of Business Administration.
