MLA: Gwen O'Mahony - Chilliwack-Hope

Heavenly Father, we pray for MLA: Gwen O'Mahony today.  Thank You for a lifetime of service to people around her.  We pray that You would help her as she serves both her constituents and the people of British Columbia.  Help her as she acts as an advocate and facilitator for the people in her community.  Give her wisdom, courage and strength as she fulfills her various duties. Amen.

Gwen O'Mahony was elected as the MLA for Chilliwack-Hope in a by-election on April 19, 2012.

Gwen serves as the official opposition critic for Skills Training and as deputy Advanced Education critic.

Even before entering politics, Gwen made her living looking out for people's well-being. She has specialized training in Biochemistry, Microbiology, and Pre-Med, and worked as a health advocate at a home for adults with developmental disabilities.

Her past experience in the private sector has helped her understand the many challenges facing small and medium-sized businesses. She is also Past President of the Abbotsford Rotaract, a college and career extension of the Rotary, and has dedicated extensive time to community environmental issues.

Gwen lives in Chilliwack.
